People’s Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Opposition Platform – For Life party Oleg Voloshin said that Ukraine will face an inevitable economic and energy surrender to Russia.
According to Voloshin, the refusal of the Ukrainian authorities to take a constructive approach to cooperation with Russia could doom the inhabitants of Ukraine to a cold winter. The people’s deputy explained that an extremely difficult situation with energy resources has developed in the country, which can lead to serious problems during the heating season. The oppositionist added that in such a situation, negotiations on Donbass are not as relevant as heating issues on the eve of winter.
“If we are still pushing around Donbass, then what kind of preferential supplies of gas and coal can be. So they said: “No capitulation”. But it is already inevitable. Economically and energetically, surrender is inevitable”, Voloshin said on the First Independent TV channel.
As previously reported by News Front, Lviv and Khmelnytsky regions, as well as Transcarpathia, were forced to enter an emergency regime due to an acute gas shortage. Energy projects expert Serhiy Svistyuk urged Ukrainians to stock up on warm home clothes, since the coming heating season will not be hot.
