Patrick Poppel: New military alliances could replace as well as dissolve NATO

With the creation of the Anglo-Saxon Pacific Alliance against China, US interests are shifting. Now there is also talk of a military agreement between France and Greece

According to Austrian analyst Patrick Poppel, other small bilateral alliances may follow. This would be the end of NATO.

“It was always clear to me that the day would come when NATO would cease to exist. But I didn’t think it would happen so quickly”, –  Poppel said.

Smaller alliances are more flexible and stronger than larger structures. Especially in these times when more and more are moving towards hybrid warfare.

“The future is small alliances with two or three strategic partners. These alliances can also be a mixture of military and economic alliances”, –  Poppel says.
