The Pontiff met with Viktor Orban in Budapest.
According to TASS, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that he had appealed to Pope Francis to prevent the death of Christian Hungary.
“I asked Pope Francis not to let Christian Hungary perish,” the head of government said on Sunday on his Facebook page after meeting with the pontiff, who is in Budapest.
Orban also posted a photo from a meeting with the Vatican delegation.
Earlier, the Hungarian parliament passed a law on June 15 prohibiting the demonstration of same-sex relationships in educational materials or television shows intended for persons under 18 years of age. It implies that only individuals and organizations on the official register can conduct sex education classes in educational institutions. Large companies are also prohibited from posting homosexual advertisements if they are aimed at an audience under the age of 18. This law drew criticism among the political elite of the European Union and a number of its member states.
