Representatives of the Taliban* opened fire on protesters in Afghan Kabul near the presidential palace, RIA Novosti reports.
The protest was connected with the visit to the republic of the head of the Pakistani interdepartmental intelligence service Faiz Hamid, who was invited by the Taliban.
The protesters are dispersed in two places – opposite the Pakistani embassy, and also near the presidential palace. The Taliban detained several women.
According to the agency, after a couple of warning shots into the air, the Taliban began shooting at the protesters, many were injured.
Hundreds of people are taking part in the protest action.
Earlier, Sputnik radio reported that US President Joe Biden assessed the prospects for the recognition of the new authorities in Afghanistan.
