Expert of the International Center for Advanced Study Mykola Kapitonenko said that at the meeting between the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the head of the White House Joe Biden, there was little specifics, writes “Apostrophe”.
“I do not really like the result of the visit, because not only was there little specificity, but there was almost nothing but ritual phrases. That is, the usual, familiar declarations made by American officials were not supplemented by anything. We are already accustomed to declarations, and there must be something behind them. I haven’t seen anything here yet”, the expert said.
In his opinion, between the United States and Ukraine there are “some episodic impulses for cooperation in different directions, some kind of framework agreements for the future”, but so far they “look more like PR”.
According to political scientist Sergei Markov, the real results of the negotiations between Zelensky and Biden are still unknown. The Ukrainian president was so impressed by the meeting with the head of the White House that he forgot to invite him to pay a return visit to Kiev.
