The plane carrying Muhammad Ashraf Ghani never entered the airspace of the country, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of both republics said
According to TASS, Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesman Aibek Smadiarov said on Monday that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani was not in Kazakhstan’s territory.
“Ghani is not in Kazakhstan”, – Smadiyarov said, responding to a question about whether the Afghan president could be on the territory of Kazakhstan.
A Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesman told TASS August 15 that there are no Kazakh citizens in Afghanistan except for the remaining members of the diplomatic mission. He noted that the Kazakh embassy in Kabul will continue its work, but with a reduced staff.
At the same time, the website of the Tajik diplomatic mission has published a refutation of the information published in various media reports about the arrival of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in the country.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan informs that the plane with Mr. Muhammad Ashraf Ghani did not enter the airspace of Tajikistan and did not land on the territory of the country”, – it said.
The Foreign Ministry noted that it had not received a corresponding request from the Afghan side.
