Russia strengthens the arsenal of a military base in Tajikistan

The latest models of small arms, as well as extended-range flamethrowers and Verba MANPADS, have arrived at Russia’s largest military facility abroad – a base in Tajikistan.

All of them were involved in the exercises of the Russian Federation, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, held against the backdrop of destabilization in Afghanistan, the press service of the Central Military District told reporters on Tuesday.

“The 201st military base received the latest Kalashnikov AK-12 assault rifles, Yarygin pistols to replace Makarov pistols, modern army large-caliber sniper rifles ASVK-M, extended-range flamethrowers and Verba MANPADS. All these weapons were used by Russian units during joint exercises with Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, which were held against the background of the destabilization of the situation in Afghanistan”, – the press service said.
