Taliban fighters* have taken control of most of Afghanistan. This was stated by Shahabuddin Delawar, the head of the movement’s delegation, who is now on a visit to Moscow.
According to him, the radicals seized 174 counties in the country. He noted that the success of the Taliban is connected not only with weapons, but also with the fact that the militants are supported by the peaceful population.
“85% of the territory of Afghanistan came under the control of the Islamic Emirate,” Delaware said and appealed to international organizations. He asked them to continue working in Taliban-controlled areas.
Earlier in the media there were reports that the militants entered Kandahar. Fighting began in the area of the market and the central prison. There are civilians injured and killed.
