The USS Ross is in the port of Odessa. It arrived to participate in the exercise Sea Breeze.
“On board the destroyer, the Ukrainian president talked to the commander of the 6th Fleet of the US Navy, Vice Admiral Eugene Black”, – representatives of the guarantor said.
Zelensky said that he considers it symbolic that Ukraine’s Navy Day is celebrated on the same date as US Independence Day.
“I believe that these two events are linked. After all, today Ukraine defends its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity in the east. And we believe that with the support of our partners, the United States of America, both on land, on water and in the air, we will be able to defend our independence more confidently and successfully”, – the president said.
In Odessa, Zelensky addressed the sailors. He promised them that Ukraine would have its own warship by 2023. It is already being built in Turkey.
