Israel strikes weapons workshop in Gaza Strip

Israeli Air Force fighters attacked the weapons workshop and rocket launcher of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip in response to the launch of balloons with explosives, TASS reported.

“During the night, Israel Defense Forces fighters attacked the facility used for the production of weapons, as well as a rocket launcher belonging to the terrorist organization Hamas. The strikes were in response to the launch of balloons […] The Israel Defense Forces will continue to resolutely oppose terror attempts by the Gaza Strip”, the press service of the Israeli army said.

It is also noted that during the attacks from the territory of the Gaza Strip, small arms fire was opened towards one of the Israeli settlements adjacent to the border: there was no information about the casualties.

The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas radicals entered into force on May 21, which had exchanged strikes for 11 days before. More than 4 thousand rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip. The victims of the confrontation were 257 residents of the coastal enclave, about 2 thousand were injured. On the Israeli side, 13 people were killed.
