On Constitution Day, the US Embassy congratulated Ukrainians on LGBT Pride Day

The US Embassy in Ukraine congratulated the citizens of the country on LGBT Pride Day. The corresponding publication appeared on the page of the representative office in Facebook.

They stressed that the fight to “end violence, discrimination, criminalization and stigma against LGBTQ +” is a “global challenge”. The embassy noted that members of the LGBT community should not be deprived of legal protection because of their sexual orientation or gender identity and characteristics.

The Representation also called for joining them “in supporting dignified treatment of all people and full respect for human rights”.

Earlier on June 28, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Ukrainians on the 25th anniversary of the Constitution. He called the basic law democratic and human-centered, since a third of his articles are supposedly devoted to “human rights and freedoms”.
