The Moldovan authorities refused to accept the donation of new batches of the Oxford vaccine AstraZeneca, which were offered by Romania and Estonia. The National Agency for Public Health today, on June 23, said that today there are enough reserves of this drug in the republic.
The Ministry of Health clarified that 70% of all the previously obtained anikovid serum was used and 380 thousand doses still remained.
“We need to manage our inventory very carefully. Through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we informed that we could study the option of obtaining new AstraZeneca consignments by the end of August or the beginning of September”, said State Secretary of the Ministry of Health Denis Chernelia.
According to him, in early July, through the COVAX platform, Chisinau will receive another batch of vaccinations, but of a different name.
“We will receive about 100-150 thousand doses of vaccines. We have sent requests to diversify stocks. What kind of drug it will be will become known shortly before delivery. We asked for a different type of vaccine”, concluded the Secretary of State.
