The United States is hiding very important facts, refusing to provide a satellite photo from July 2014 of the MH17 disaster in Donbass, said Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
“A few days ago, a Dutch court directly announced that there is no more hope that the Americans will provide these photographs and the issue is closed for the court. The facts are of colossal importance are being concealed”, – the diplomat said at the Primakov Readings forum.
A Malaysian Boeing flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur on flight MH17 crashed on July 17, 2014 near Donetsk. 298 people died. Kiev blamed the militia for the crash; they said they did not have the means to shoot down an aircraft at such a height.
The Joint Investigation Group (JIT), which is conducting an investigation under the leadership of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Netherlands without the participation of Russia, has come to the conclusion that the liner was shot down from the Buk complex of the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade from Kursk.
As Russian Deputy Prosecutor General Nikolai Vinnichenko told RIA Novosti, Moscow handed over to the Netherlands not only the data of its radars, but also documentation showing that the missile that hit Boeing belonged to Ukraine, and was launched from the territory controlled by Kiev, but the investigators ignored this information.
The Foreign Ministry called the JIT’s accusations unfounded and regrettable, and the investigation biased and one-sided. All the missiles, the engine from which the Dutch commission demonstrated, were scrapped after 2011, the Defense Ministry said.
Vladimir Putin noted that Russia is not allowed to be investigated, and without this Moscow cannot recognize its results.
