Million Hungarian citizens received Russian Sputnik V vaccine

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siyjarto in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper said that the Russian vaccine against coronavirus Sputnik V is very popular among the country’s residents.

“The Russian vaccine is very popular among Hungarians – 1 million of our citizens were vaccinated with Sputnik V. The use of the Russian vaccine was a big step towards a successful vaccination campaign. It helped us become the first European country to open”, – the Hungarian Foreign Minister said.

According to the Hungarian authorities, the country’s population in 2021 is 9.730 million people. As of June 3, more than 5.2 Hungarians have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
