The UN Security Council is planning to hold a high-level meeting on June 22 on the situation in Afghanistan and UNAMA, the world body’s mission to the country
Estonia’s permanent representative to the UN, Sven Jürgenson, said this at a press conference on Tuesday in connection with the beginning of the Estonian presidency of the UN Security Council in June.
“We are planning to hold a high-level meeting on UNAMA, Afghanistan, this will be a regular meeting”, – he said, noting that most meetings on this issue are held at the level of permanent representatives of countries to the UN. The UN Security Council is scheduled to meet on 22 June.
