Disappointed with a 1% pay rise, health workers are planning a series of protests against the Boris Johnson government.
The Royal College of Nursing says 25,000 people will join the campaign to bring better working conditions for workers. They hope that the strike will help achieve a sufficient turnout during the vote, which will take place if officials ignore the situation.
The college has already recruited a renowned expert in healthcare campaigning. For a quarter of a century, Jane McAlevy has helped nurses in the United States to unionize and seek better conditions.
Dave Dawes, chairman of the Royal College of Nursing, said the paramedics will become an “army of activists” that will help motivate half a million colleagues across the country to campaign locally to garner public support.
