The head of the Czech government, Andrei Babis, considers it necessary to reduce tensions in relations between Prague and Moscow.
Speaking in the parliament of the republic, Babish said that the situation today is “heated with emotions”. He was also skeptical that the Czech Republic could be on the list of states unfriendly to Russia with all the ensuing consequences.
In particular, according to the decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the diplomatic missions of such countries will limit the possibility of hiring Russian citizens.
“I don’t know, is that not enough for you?” – the Czech prime minister asked a rhetorical question.
As previously reported by News Front, the Czech authorities unsubstantiatedly accused Russia of involvement in the destruction of an arms depot in Vrbetica in 2014. Weapons were kept there, which, in circumvention of the embargo, were supplied to Ukrainian punishers to kill the residents of Donbass.
Prague has already expelled 18 Russian diplomats. In response, Moscow declared 20 employees of the Czech Embassy in the Russian Federation persona non grata.
