The Russian senator commented on the reaction of the Ukrainian ambassador in Berlin to the statements of a potential candidate for the post of Bundeschancellor from the most Russophobic party in the German Bundestag
According to the Ukraine.ru TV channel, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung recently published an interview with Greens leader Annalena Berbok, who said that Ukraine’s accession to NATO was unrealistic.
Regarding arms deliveries to Ukraine (information that Ukraine has requested second-hand weapons from Germany appeared there), she said the following: “You cannot take the third step before the first and especially in a situation where there is a violent conflict with Russia”.
Ukraine’s ambassador to Germany, Andriy Melnyk, responded: “Unfortunately, we have a refusal both on the provision of defence armaments to Kiev and on NATO. This is disappointing.”
“Even the German Greens, for all their Russophobia, do not consider Ukraine’s accession to NATO possible. That is, they are well aware too: Kiev needs accession in order to drag the alliance into a military conflict with Russia. Therefore – nein. Ukraine’s ambassador to Berlin is disappointed: he is not accepted to NATO, they do not give him enough money, they do not allow to build nuclear weapon, and former chancellor Schroeder even called him a clown…And is he not a clown? He could at least resign”, – noted the well-known publicist Alexey Pushkov in his tg-channel.
