Syrian air defenses reacted to an Israeli missile attack in Damascus province.
As reported by ЕАdaily, citing the Syrian state news agency SANA, the Syrian Defense Ministry said that as a result of the strike on the territory of the Arab Republic, four soldiers were injured.
“Our air defenses are repelling Israeli missile attacks in the Dumair area of Damascus”, – the report said.
“At approximately 01.38 today, Israel launched an air attack using missiles from the occupied Golan Heights, hitting some targets in the vicinity of Damascus. Our air defenses repelled the aggression and shot down most (missiles). The aggression resulted in four soldiers being injured”.
The Israeli army, in turn, clarified that the attack on Syrian territory was provoked by the launch of a rocket that fell near a nuclear center in the Negev desert.
“Recently, a surface-to-air missile was launched from the territory of Syria, which fell in the Negev region. In response, a few minutes ago, the Israeli army attacked the battery that launched the missile and additional Syrian surface-to-air batteries in the area”, – the IDF said.
