Russian President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov noted that despite harsh statements from Washington, Russian leader Vladimir Putin remains a supporter of building good relations with the United States.
“In general, despite all the harsh statements and hostile expressions from Washington, President Putin remains a consistent supporter of building good relations with the United States, at least in those areas that are beneficial to us. In the development of our bilateral relations, we are always ready to go as far as our partners are ready for this”, – said Peskov.
He also noted that “Moscow has never represented and does not represent a threat to anyone,” but also “never and anyone, including the United States, will not be allowed to threaten, dictate something or infringe on Russia’s interests”.
“The hostility and unpredictability of the actions of the American side as a whole obliges us to be prepared for the worst scenarios. When you have a sufficiently aggressive, unpredictable interlocutor, you are always in a mobilized state”, – the press secretary emphasized.
