Two rockets fell near a US military base in Iraq

US military bases and the US Embassy in Baghdad are frequently targeted by mortar and rocket attacks. US officials blame Iranian-backed armed groups for regular rocket attacks on US targets in Iraq. The last attack on Balad airbase was on March 15, when at least five missiles fell on the base.

As reported by Channel 112 Ukraine, two missiles fell on Sunday in the countryside near an Iraqi military airbase, where some American contractors are stationed.

“According to the Iraqi military, the missiles fell on the outer fencing of the base. Initial investigation showed that the attack was aimed at Balad Air Base north of Baghdad, but the missiles missed the target and hit the village of Al-Bou-Asi to the southeast”, – Reuters reported.
