Slovenia restricts use of the AstraZeneca vaccine

It has previously been reported that some countries have temporarily suspended the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine due to reports of side effects.

As the channel 112 Ukraine reports with reference to DW, Slovenia suspends vaccination of residents under 60 years old using a drug from the British-Swedish concern AstraZeneca.

“The authorities decided to wait for the results of studies that may indicate a link between the use of this vaccine and the formation of blood clots in vaccinated people”, said a spokesman for the republic’s health ministry.

It was previously reported that some countries have temporarily suspended the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine due to reports of side effects. In the UK itself (the country of origin of the vaccine), seven people have died from thrombosis after the start of the vaccination campaign against the coronavirus with the drug AstraZeneca. However, some countries resumed the use of the vaccine against the background of an increase in the number of infected and a lack of vaccines.
