American media explains why U.S. does not win wars

The United States is losing wars because of the actions of its own politicians, expert Lawrence Korb said in an article for the National Review.

He recalled that in recent years, Washington has not been able to influence the situation in Afghanistan, and now it is reducing the military contingent in Iraq.

Korb believes that the United States unreasonably accused Iraq of creating weapons of mass destruction, which in the end was never found. At the same time, the Americans established control over the local oil, but the proceeds from its sale are divided between influential clans and private military companies.

Analyzing the events in Afghanistan, the specialist emphasizes that the US army was unable to achieve transformations in this country, and over the next 20 years caused irreparable damage to its reputation.

According to the author of the material, the American Armed Forces have long been unable to “spread democracy” in the world. Moreover, Korb wondered if democracy remained in the United States itself.
