Representative of the head of the European Council expressed concern over the situation in Georgia

The diplomat also expressed hope that political parties will find the strength to overcome the crisis.

As reported by TASS, on Friday the representative of the head of the European Council Charles Michel for Georgia, Christian Danielson, at a press conference in Tbilisi said that Georgia is at a political dead end, which causes concern for the European Union.

“Georgia is very important for the European Union. The European Union pays great attention to what is happening in Georgia. What is happening here is important for the EU. Our concern is that the country is at an impasse”, – said Danielson, expressing hope that political parties will find the strength to overcome the crisis for the good of the country, and expressed his readiness to help them reach a compromise solution.

Danielson, on instructions from Michel, arrived in Tbilisi on Friday morning. He has already held talks with Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili and Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. The diplomat is scheduled to meet with representatives of civil society, after which he will individually negotiate with political forces, and then arrange a discussion with the participation of all parties. Danielson will stay in Tbilisi until March 14.
