Retired servicemen come to rally in support of the Chief of General Staff in Yerevan

Several hundred retired military men came out to rally near the building of the Armenian Defense Ministry in Yerevan in support of Chief of the General Staff Onik Gasparyan, TASS reports.

“We have gathered here to support our comrade-in-arms Onik Gasparyan. He personifies the army, and the army did not lose in this war. The political leadership deliberately led to this defeat”, – said one of the rally participants.

After the rally, the military plan to march to Marshal Baghramyan Avenue, where the next opposition rally is to begin at 15:00.

Earlier, Chief of the General Staff Onik Gasparyan, with the support of about 40 senior army officers, announced the need for the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. In response, the prime minister sent an order to dismiss Gasparyan for approval, but Armenian President Armen Sargsyan did not sign the draft decree on the dismissal of the Chief of the General Staff.
