Estonia urged the West to accept Russia “as it is”

Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid indicated that cooperation between Russia and the European Union in the field of student exchange continues, despite the contradictions between the parties.

As IA REGNUM writes, in an interview with the Latvian portal LTV Kersti Kaljulaid said that the Baltic countries should not avoid conducting a dialogue with Russia.

“Involvement does not mean abandoning your principles. I am in favor of dialogue, but in it you need to be firm and give a clear message”, – she said.

At the same time, according to the Estonian leader, working “with these difficult issues” is a common goal for the Baltic countries. Kaljulaid also noted that the West needs to accept Russia “as it is”.
