Montenegro is negotiating with Russia on the supply of “Sputnik V”

Montenegrin authorities are negotiating with representatives of the Russian government and the Gamaleya Center on the supply of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine, the country’s Ministry of Health told RIA Novosti.

Currently, vaccination against COVID-19 is not carried out in Montenegro due to the lack of funds for immunization. At the same time, on Tuesday revealed the presence of a new “British strain” in seven patients out of 40 tests sent for examination to Berlin.

“Negotiations are underway on the supply of a vaccine against COVID-19 by the Ministry of Health of Montenegro with a negotiating group of the Russian government, in which a team of experts from the Gamaleya Center, the manufacturers of the Sputnik V vaccine, are participating”, – the Ministry of Health said.

“All information on the results of the negotiations will be provided upon their completion”, – the ministry said.

According to the latest data from the Institute of Public Health of Montenegro, by Monday, since the beginning of the pandemic, 69,294 people were infected with coronavirus, of which 373 were in the previous day. A total of 899 patients have died. The population of the country is about 620 thousand people.
