Subsequent deliveries of the Sputnik V vaccine will be organized to Venezuela according to the agreed schedule and production capabilities, Ambassador to the Latin American country Sergei Melik-Bagdasarov told RIA Novosti.
“Today’s shipment included both the components of the first and second doses of the vaccine”, – he said.
“It was fundamentally important for our countries to carry out the first delivery of the vaccine in order to start implementing the contract signed in December last year. Subsequent deliveries within the framework of the existing agreements will be organized according to the schedule agreed by the parties, based on production and logistics capabilities”, – the diplomat added.
Sputnik V was registered by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation in August 2020, it was developed by the Gamaleya Research Center for Electrochemistry. This vaccine was the first in the world to prevent COVID-19. Sputnik V is built on the well-studied and proven platform of human adenoviral vectors.
