The Democratic Party, which subjugated all state institutions of Moldova during the period when the oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc was in its leadership, believes that this period was “the era of development”.
According to omg.md, the current Democratic Party leader, who had previously been Plahotniuc’s deputy, Pavel Filip posted an appeal on social networks in connection with the 24th anniversary of the Democratic Party. Despite the grave accusations of taking over the state, Filip insists that “The Democratic Party is a politically adult, serious and responsible party”, recalling the slogan of the Plahotniuc period “Deeds, not words”, and praising its achievements during the heyday of Plahotniuc’s regime.
“While we were in the government for 3 years, the country was moving forward”, – writes Philip, citing Plahotniuc’s projects “Good Roads”, “First House”, “Doctor for You”, IT parks, pension reform as an example.
“All those who developed these projects, are now in the Democratic Party of Moldova team. It was they who started the engines of this country and kept these engines in motion for 3 years. Yes, unfortunately, these engines have been stopped for 2 years. But these people who know how to restart the engines are still in our team, and they constantly think about the country. And I’m sure that we will have the opportunity to restart Moldova”.
It is noteworthy that the Democratic Party was recognized as the main culprit in the seizure of the main institutions of state power in Moldova. This is stated in the Declaration on the recognition of the Republic of Moldova as a captured state, adopted by the Parliament on June 8, 2019.
