The fifth President of Moldova, leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon said that a consignment of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine would soon be delivered to Moldova.
Last week, Igor Dodon met with the Deputy of the Presidential Administration of Russia Dmitry Kozak, at which the parties discussed the receipt of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in Moldova.
“I was assured that Moldova will receive several hundred thousand doses of the Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine. In the coming weeks, the Russian vaccine will appear in Chisinau”, – Dodon said.
He noted that at the moment there are 152 thousand infected people in the country and the Moldovan authorities need to resolve the issue of vaccinating the population as soon as possible.
The Sputnik V vaccine is the world’s first registered vaccine for the prevention of coronavirus. It was developed by NITsEM named after N.F. Gamalei. The vaccine is based on the already studied human adenoviral vector platform, which is safe and effective.
