US Vice President Michael Pence, in connection with pressure on him from American leader Donald Trump, said on Wednesday that he has no authority to reject the results of the electoral college vote, according to which Joseph Biden should become the new head of state.
“Some believe that, as vice president, I must unilaterally accept or reject electoral votes. Others believe that electoral votes should never be challenged in a joint meeting of Congress. After a careful study of our Constitution, our laws and our history, I believe that none of these points of view are correct”, – said in a written statement released by the White House.
