Demining and engineering units, which are part of the Russian peacekeeping mission in Nagorno-Karabakh, have cleared almost 300 hectares of land and deactivated over 9 thousand explosive objects, the Russian Ministry of Defense has reported.
“The engineering units of the Russian peacekeeping forces are completing the demining of the northern outskirts of Stepanakert. During the operation more than 280 hectares of land, about 107 kilometres of roads and 452 houses have been demined. More than 9,000 explosive objects were found and neutralized,” the Ministry of Defense reported.
It is also noted that Russian deminers use “modern robotic complexes, which make it possible to maintain a high rate of demining in conditions of mountainous terrain and weather deterioration”.
