An officer of the military engineering unit of the peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Armed Forces has been killed in the vicinity of the city of Shushi in Nagorno-Karabakh during demining
The Russian Defence Ministry said that the explosive device exploded during a road check for explosive objects.
As a result of the explosion the soldier was seriously wounded, doctors tried to save his life, but failed. He died while being evacuated to hospital.
It is specified that the officer was serving in the International Mine Action Centre’s demining team.
