Maduro called for dialogue after the elections

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said that a broad political dialogue was needed, involving the non-systemic opposition that had refused to participate in the current parliamentary elections, in order to identify ways of economic recovery

Maduro called for dialogue after the elections.

“I agree with the idea… of … José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero to organize a national dialogue involving all political parties in Venezuela, both in and out of the elections, with the participation of all sectors of the economy and society to assess the national agenda, the economic recovery agenda”, –  said Maduro at a press conference organized after his vote in the parliamentary elections.

Recall that the elections for the unicameral parliament of Venezuela, the National Assembly, are held on Sunday, with 107 political parties and associations participating. More than 20 parties, including the opposition party Juan Guayido, refused to participate in the vote.

However, Maduro has already stated that he is prepared to leave his post if the opposition wins.
