Marches in France against the new bill were accompanied by acts of vandalism

64 protesters have been detained for breaches of order throughout the country, 42 of them in Paris

A new day of protest against the government’s Global Security Bill was held on Saturday in almost 90 French cities. Anti-government marches, in which, according to official data, more than 52,000 people took part, were accompanied by clashes between demonstrators and police and acts of vandalism.

According to preliminary data, eight police and gendarmerie officers were injured in this confrontation. “The police and gendarmes were again attacked,” said the law enforcement agencies. According to the authorities, 64 demonstrators were detained all over France for breaches of order, 42 of them in Paris.
