According to RIA Novosti, Violetta Tovkes, a journalist for the NewsOne TV channel, was attacked live from a ceremony in Kiev dedicated to the memory of the victims of the 1932-1933 famine in the USSR.
The footage shows an unknown man knocking out a girl’s microphone and a mourning candle, shouting at her and then fleeing the scene.
“We call on law enforcement agencies to find and punish the attacker”, – says NewsOne in a statement.
The channel’s management has promised to take all possible measures to bring the perpetrators to justice.
