Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that Beijing was interested in strengthening the political dialogue with Moscow and in close coordination of positions on important issues
During a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi stated the desire of the Chinese authorities to join forces with Russia to combat global hegemony and the growing protectionism of individual countries. This was announced on Thursday by the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
“The Chinese side intends to continue cooperation with Russia at a high level, to promote the Chinese-Russian comprehensive partnership”, – Wang Yi quotes the website of the Chinese Foreign Ministry. – “China is ready side by side with Russia to jointly counteract the one-sided policy, protectionism and hegemony of [individual countries], which strike at international relations and international order.”
According to the Chinese Foreign Minister, Beijing is interested in strengthening political dialogue with Moscow and in close coordination of positions on important issues. “We seek to defend our mutual national interests, justice and equality throughout the world together with the Russian Federation,” said Wang Yi.
As he stressed, China intends to take advantage of strong partnerships with Russia to fight the pandemic and restore the world economy.
