According to Axios, the American leader will take such a step that it is “politically unacceptable” for Joseph Biden to change the current course towards Beijing.
The US Presidential Administration, Donald Trump, intends to take a number of tough measures against China in the coming weeks. This was announced on Sunday by the Axios information portal with reference to its sources.
According to them, the American leader intends to introduce such tough measures against Beijing that it would be ‘politically unacceptable’ for the Democrat candidate Joseph Biden, who, according to the forecasts of the leading media, became elected president of the USA, to change the current course towards China.
For example, the Washington administration plans to impose sanctions against a large number of Chinese companies, government agencies and officials for their alleged involvement in human rights violations in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and Hong Kong, or for possible threats to US national security. At the same time, Axios sources indicated that it is not worth waiting for major new steps with regard to Taiwan or the closure of Chinese general consulates in the USA. In addition, the portal continued, the US government is discussing expanding the list of Chinese companies which, according to Washington, have connections with the Chinese Armed Forces. Restrictions may also affect the Chinese fishing industry.
According to the portal, John Ratcliffe, Director of National Intelligence in the USA, will soon make another accusation against Beijing. “If Beijing will not change its course and will not become a responsible player in the world arena, future US presidents will consider it politically suicidal to cancel the historic decisions of President Trump”, – the head of the press service of the White House National Security Council John Elliot told the portal.
