A resident of the Serbian village of Rigica near Sombor on the border with Hungary on Wednesday expelled from his cottage about 50 migrants, who literally destroyed the interior decoration of the entire facility.
On the same day, around 20:00, a large group of migrants were arrested and brought to justice in this village by the Sombor police department. On Thursday, the police intensified their activities in the village and its surroundings, and as “Novosti” finds out, they will do so in the coming days.
The presence of the police, according to the residents of that village on the very border with Hungary, where just over 1000 people live, gave the first results.
“Yesterday, the police increased their presence, which gave positive results among the residents of Riga, namely that there are currently no migrants in this place”, – says Marko Bundic, Community Secretary.
For several months now, the residents of Rigica have been experiencing discomfort with the migrants who walk around this village carelessly. Hundreds of them pass through this peaceful settlement every day and enter country houses and summer residences.
The daily disturbance of order, as well as the migrants’ inappropriate behavior, inspire fear in their homes; therefore, residents of Rigica expect the competent state authorities to provide them with long-term assistance in solving this problem.
