Minister of National Defence Hulusi Akar emphasised that Turkey will use S-400 in the same way as some NATO members use S-300.
Turkey continues to prepare for the deployment of the S-400 antiaircraft missile systems (AAS). This was announced on Thursday by Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Hulusi Akar.
“We continue to test and prepare [S-400] systems according to our plans”, – Anadolu agency quotes him as saying. – “We will use S-400 in the same way as some NATO members use S-300.”
In addition, Acar recalled that Turkey’s proposal to form a technical working group with the USA to study the compatibility of the S-400 and American fifth-generation F-35 fighters is still in force.
Meanwhile, in early November, Assistant Secretary of State for Military-Political Affairs Clark Cooper stated that the possibility of imposing US sanctions against Turkey in connection with the acquisition of Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems remains.
