No reports of detainees
Participants in a rally in Leipzig, Germany, which took place on Saturday, clashed with the police and set up a riot on Sunday night. This was reported by the TV channel n-tv.
Initially, the demonstration was attended by 20,000 people. Later in the evening, the authorities decided to complete the demonstration, as the participants did not wear masks and did not observe the distance of one and a half metres. After that, several hundred people, including right-wing radicals, marched along an uncoordinated route through the city centre.
Focus Online writes that clashes between demonstrators and left-wing activists were recorded, with both using pyrotechnics and smoke bombs. The police, who tried to separate the opposing sides, were thrown stones.
At night in the Konnevets area, unknown people threw bottles at law enforcement officers and erected barricades on the roads. The police were preparing to use water cannons in case of escalation, and a helicopter was barging in the sky. No casualties were reported.
Leipzig police have not yet published a report on events that took place in the evening and at night. No reports have been made about the detainees. So far only 32 recorded offences have been reported.
