Ankara has announced its willingness to work with the new US administration

The Vice-President of Turkey, Fuat Oktay, noted that “the communication channels will work equally”.

TASS reports that on Sunday on Kanal 7, after Democratic Party candidate Joseph Biden announced his victory in the US presidential election, Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay said Ankara was ready to cooperate with the new Washington administration.

“The US has had a very interesting election process, but from a Turkish perspective, nothing is changing. The communication channels will work in the same way. Of course, it will be a transition process”, –  he said.

Meanwhile, on Saturday the chairman of the main opposition People’s Republican Party, Kemal Kylycdaroglu, was the first major Turkish politician to congratulate Baiden on winning the elections. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has not yet sent a message to the Democrat candidate.
