Sandu beats Dodon in the Moldovan presidential elections

According to CEC, in the first round of presidential elections in Moldova, ex-Prime Minister Maya Sandu is ahead of the incumbent President Igor Dodon.

The Central Election Commission has processed 99.01% of ballots.

It is estimated that Sandu received 35.42% of the vote and Dodon 33.16%. Our Party leader Renato Moustache with 16.98% of the votes closes the top three.

Voter turnout exceeded the 33.33% threshold and the CEC declared the elections to have taken place.

However, as no candidate has garnered more than 50% of the votes, Maya Sandu and Igor Dodon will meet in the second round of elections, which is due on 15 November.
