Lose to win – Democrats use their own weapons against Trump a few days before the elections

Remote voting opens up a lot of opportunities for vote fraud in the US presidential election. The Democrats had previously denied this statement by Donald Trump. Now everything has changed

It was the Democrats who authored the mail-order ubiquitous initiative, although it was clear from the outset that this mechanism could provoke an electoral crisis.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in particular, examined the situation in the 2008 elections. At that time, some Americans also voted remotely, with 3.9 million voters still waiting for their ballots; 2.9 million ballots sent out simply disappeared without returning to the election commission staff; and 800,000 more ballots were not accepted for a variety of reasons.

Against this background, even the OSCE is questioning the legitimacy of the elections, but Donald Trump was the strongest critic of the Democrats’ initiative. He constantly pointed out that remote voting was an opportunity for fraud, as votes from a huge number of citizens would not be counted.

“You won’t know this [voting results] for months because it’s a mess”, –  the president said. – !I could be the winner, and then they would continue to receive ballots, ballots and ballots. Because now they say that the ballots may come too late.!

Democrats and the liberal American media have rejected such allegations. Until recently. The New York Times’ infographic, which was released last week, showed that three groups of citizens could indeed lose their votes.

According to the publication, which is considered pro-democracy, these are those who have not previously voted by mail, young people, as well as Latin American and black voters. It is noteworthy that the young generation and minorities are considered by democrats to be “their” electorate.

Numerous sociological studies also show that Joe Biden’s supporters are more likely to vote by mail. And with this in mind, liberal influencers are beginning to borrow Trump’s skepticism about the Democrats’ initiative.

“Democrats are expected to vote more often in absentia than Republicans, which means their ballots are at greater risk of rejection”, –  said Washington-based publicist Thomas Edsall.

After analyzing the statistics, he pointed out that around 2.7 million Biden votes would not be counted. Trump, on the other hand, will only lose 735,000 votes. These figures may seem insignificant for a country of 330 million people. However, it is worth considering here that the main race is taking place in the so-called oscillating states. Given the unprecedented level of polarisation in the country, even a fraction of a percent is to be fought.

Under such conditions, the Democrats have clearly found a way to benefit from the criticism of the postal vote by using his own weapons against Donald Trump.

“Donald Trump’s complaints about sending ballots by mail are an insincere way of preemptively delegitimising election results that he does not like, given that Biden’s victory will partly depend on the votes sent by mail. But there are still risks of more ballots being mailed – risks that could actually damage Joe Biden’s prospects”, –  writes The Guardian columnist Nathan Robinson.

Although the entire liberal press in America is distributing almost identical publications about Trump’s imminent defeat, sometimes less joyful information for Biden trickles through.

“Biden seems to be at its best, but it’s still a polarised country and Trump’s victory is still within reach”, –  said Global Strategy Group partner Nick Gurevic in a comment for The Washington Post.

However, the publication itself, also pro-democracy, admits that these “limits of the possible” are wider than Biden would like. In fact, a 77-year-old democrat is following in Hillary Clinton’s footsteps. She started celebrating victory too early in 2016. Although all sociology seemed to be on Clinton’s side, Trump has been occupying the White House for four years now.

“Even the best poll can be wrong, and variables such as turnout mean that we are functionally connected in a number of critical states”, –  said Biden’s campaign manager Jan O’Malley Dillon.

Given the political deja vu, it is not surprising that Democrats are preparing to fail. Just this preparation does not mean writing a beautiful match for Biden. The current conditions well allow the Democratic Party to question the results of the vote by borrowing Trump’s rhetoric.

“Democrats need to speak out against misinformation from the right about the voting by mail. But they also need to know that it is their candidate who may suffer from the problems that really exist with mailed ballots”, –  writes Nathan Robinson.

These kinds of allegations are appearing more and more in the media, creating a platform to sabotage elections in case Trump wins. The fact that the United States has kindly turned down the lion’s share of international observers is contributing to this scenario. Even the OSCE, which will send only 30 observers to the entire United States, will not be able to say for sure that the electoral process is democratic.

All that remains to be said is that elections cannot be considered legitimate because the votes of millions of citizens have not been counted. It is true that this scenario is creating an unprecedented political crisis in the United States and, equally important for Washington, it will undermine the very idea of the stability of American democracy. Soon we will have to find out if the ruling elites in the US are ready for such sacrifices.
