President is being elected in Tajikistan today. Polling stations opened at 6 am local time (4:00 Moscow time).
A total of 3,375 sites were opened across the country. Another 39 are abroad.
Voting will continue until 20:00 local time. Five candidates are running for the elections. Emomali Rahmon, who has led Tajikistan since 1994, represents the People’s Democratic Party.
