French Foreign Ministry condemns attack on civilians in Aleppo

At least 18 people have died as a result of a car bomb blast.

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attack on civilians in the Syrian city of El-Bab (Aleppo province), where at least 18 people were killed by a car bomb. The Foreign Ministry’s press office issued a statement to this effect on Wednesday.

“France condemns the attack on 6 October in the town of El-Bab in northern Syria, which killed many civilians, including humanitarian workers”, –  the Foreign Ministry press office said. – “France reaffirms its full support for the call by the United Nations Secretary-General for the cessation of hostilities throughout Syria.”

Earlier, the Syrian television channel Al Ekhbariya reported that a car bomb had been detonated in the centre of Al Baba in Aleppo province. According to Al Jazeera, 18 people were injured and more than 70 were injured in the explosion. According to Al Jazeera, El-Bab and its surroundings are under the control of armed groups of the Turkish-backed Syrian opposition.
