Opposition in Kyrgyzstan does not recognize election results

Rallies of opposition supporters began in the streets of Bishkek.

According to Eadaily, about a thousand people gathered at Ala-Too Square in the capital, including representatives of the losing parties. The participant of the rally, Melis Aspekov from the Mekenchil party, said that the protest rally is unlimited, its participants, if necessary, are ready to express their position at night.

“There is no place for oligarchs and thieves in the Parliament!” –  the demonstrators chant and demand the cancellation of the election results.

Let us remind you that on October 4, parliamentary elections were held in Kyrgyzstan. The turnout was 1 million 980 thousand 240 voters, which is 56.2%. Now we need to expect results from the CEC. According to preliminary calculations, 4 parties have overcome the 7% barrier – Birimdik – 24.53%; Mekenim Kyrgyzstan – 23.9%; “Kyrgyzstan” – 8.74%; Butun Kyrgyzstan – 7.09%.

According to the political scientist, analyst at the Center for the Study of Political Systems (St. Petersburg) Mark Antonov, elections are a shaky platform that destructive forces have begun to use, trying to destabilize the situation in different countries.

“Many are trying to take advantage of the lack of education of the population, their political illiteracy. Kyrgyzstan has been trying to rectify this situation in the past few years. Somewhere it turns out, somewhere the foundation for the future is only being laid, but I want to say that the current parliamentary elections and everything that preceded them were held at a high level. Kyrgyzstan has already made more progress among the Central Asian countries in terms of achieving democratic principles. These elections to a certain extent showed once again that the country adheres to the chosen course, the course of democratic principles”, – the expert said.
