In Afghanistan, a car bomb exploded in the eastern province of Nangarhar near the residence of the Governor of Gunikhil District. Fifteen people were killed and over 30 injured, TOLO News reported Saturday, 3 October.

According to the provincial governor’s spokesman, the explosion was carried out by militants who intended to enter the residence of the district governor but were eliminated by the security forces.
In addition, Nangar Councilman Obaidullah Shinwari added that at least eight of the deaths in the blast were civilians.
Earlier this week in central Afghanistan’s Dai Kundi province, at least 14 people were killed in a bus bomb blast caused by a mine.
In Afghanistan, it was also reported that security forces killed eight Taliban militants, including a division commander.
