In three years, trade turnover between Moldova and the EEA countries has increased significantly. It increased by 34% and reached $1.9 billion.
Exports grew by 6.5% to $1.4 billion and imports by 29% to $481.5 million.
The minister for integration and macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Sergey Glazyev, said that Moldova and the EAEC have special relations.
“Moldova’s specialization in agriculture is not a disadvantage. We all depend to a great extent on imported products. For example, we import children’s food, canned vegetables – there is obviously a niche for joint production. We, in turn, supply Moldova with energy resources. Their processing and use as chemical raw materials also provides great opportunities for establishing joint productions oriented to export to the European Union”, – he said.
