The Lithuanian government decided to encourage the protesting Belarusians. It simplified the procedure for entering the country for highly qualified specialists, teachers, researchers.
Lithuania even abandoned the requirement to present a negative analysis of a coronavirus test taken no later than 72 hours before entry.
The Lithuanian government explained this decision by “creating prerequisites for the entry of highly qualified specialists, teachers, researchers”. In fact, it did everything to encourage unrest in Belarus. Like, if anything, Lithuania is ready to accept fugitive “revolutionaries”.
